Eaters is an ongoing collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Bob Jones, sound engineer Jonathan Schenke, and sculptor Christopher Duffy.
Their new LP, carefully crafted over the course of two years at Doctor Wu’s in Brooklyn, marries rich pulsing electronics, driving beats, and guitar pyrotechnics. It is literal and figurative “art-rock.” An exploration of light, shadow, expansion, and transformation. It speaks to the vulnerability and resilience of the human spirit in the modern age.
Since the release of their debut in 2014, the group has performed with Shabazz Palaces, Dan Deacon, Parquet Courts, !!!, Protomartyr, Trans Am, S U R V I V E, and at Moogfest 2014. Their work has been covered by Pitchfork, The New Yorker, Interview Magazine, The Creators Project, FADER, Impose, CLRVYNT, and a variety of other publications.
“The textures on Eaters are beautiful: Grim and subdued but so rich you could raise tomatoes in them.” – Pitchfork
“The Brooklyn duo [has] lovingly brought to life an album that pays tribute to a range of stylistic ventures: warped Vocoder missives, off-the-deep-end funk explorations, and songs framed as immersive, analog synth landscapes.” – Interview Magazine
